A Whole Body + Whole Earth = WholeSome/Sum
As we come upon one of our favorite days to remember… Earth Day, we are reminded how we are a part of this earth as the earth is part of us. What’s outside of us in our environment effects our inner environment… and to maintain and sustain and thrive we must take care of both.
The environment directly affects our wellness. For example, the air quality and our respiratory system, lungs, etc. Even how our heart functions. When we breathe air that has pollutants, it causes stress and damage. There is an abundance of Asthma, emphysema, even cancer worldwide. Let's take a look.
Water:
Our bodies are made up of almost 90% water. We have a filtration system that cleans the fluids in our body…. Our kidneys. If the water that we drink isn’t potable, it most certainly stresses the kidneys. There are many areas on the planet with unpotable water. Even in this country, it is highly recommended that a filtration system is used in most cities and suburbs.
Earth: Earth and the Soil
With the depletion of topsoil, so much of our land turning to desert. That said, the nutrients that we get from the soil also is depleting.
Fertilizers to yield more crops as well as other practices to have more are actually causing great harm to our land and life.
