Get more Vitality with Caffeine Awareness Month!

Energy! We want it, we need it, we want some more of it. Energy fuels us, inspires movement and action, optimal thinking and creating. Without energy, nothing would get going. The trick lies in a healthy balance between rest and activity. Much of our population today loves the feeling of being energized so much, we feel as if we can’t live without something that will provide us that energy, namely CAFFEINE.

Caffeine is found in the seeds and leaves of more than 60 plants around the world. Coffee beans, tea leaves, cocoa beans, kola nuts, guarana plants, and yerba mate are just a few that contain caffeine. Aside from the ‘pick-me-up’ that is a well-known effect of caffeine, there is evidence that caffeine has some positive effects against some diseases like Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s. There have also been some claims on coffee stimulating the liver, thereby having a positive influence on liver conditions such as jaundice and hepatitis.  But too much caffeine can result in side effects like nervousness, anxiety, nausea, sleeplessness, and jitteriness.

In honor of Caffeine Awareness Month, Beyond Broth would like to support you in feeling healthy and balanced, especially when it comes to the preciousness of energy.

Tips on Energizing

Getting adequate rest and sleep is top priority when it comes to rejuvenation and energy. Sleep is the time for regeneration is crucial for optimizing energy levels throughout the day.

Eating herbs and spices such as rosemary and cayenne both are stimulating for the mind and the circulatory system. Incorporating foods into your diet that give you energy are always excellent additions and make you feel good! Daily stresses and long hours of work can be taxing on the nervous system and energy levels. Holy Basil/Tulsi, Ashwaghanda, Siberian Ginseng, Reishi Mushroom all have adaptogenic properties and work to benefit the nervous system.

Our Vitality Broth contains rosemary, thyme and cayenne. This variety is slightly spicier, increasing circulation and encouraging optimal function of the body and mind. Feel the heating quality and get a boost without caffeine...just simply vegetables and the following herbs:

Rosmarinus officinalis (Rosemary): Rosemary supports circulatory system function. The circulatory system delivers oxygen to the brain which is an essential part of memory, concentration and overall brain function. Rosemary also supports the digestive and immune systems.

Thymus vulgaris (Thyme): Thyme is known to lift the spirit and invigorate the body. It also promotes digestion.

Capsicum spp. (Cayenne pepper): Cayenne pepper has a kick, jumpstarting first in our mouths and supporting our circulatory system.
